The blu26 Cup event kicked off on Friday evening already, with a traditional dinner in Lugano enjoying Ossobuco, Risotto and Tiramisu. Sailing-wise the teams got „pulled up“ the next day as of noon, with an agreeable 15 knots breeze from the south allowing for three exciting races. In the evening, the hosting sailing club Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano, welcomed the blu26 Big Family for a pleasant pasta party.
After a softer regatta start on Sunday morning, the teams got into some good sailing with a more vigorous wind from the north to close the event. A deciding fourth race was validated. Team ‘Hazel’ is taking home the win of this first racing weekend, followed by Team ‘Blustar’ second and Team ‘Giachen Ün’ third. Needless to say that at Lago Maggiore, the beautiful scenery across Lugano, the Monte Brè and San Salvatore in the backdrop remains undefeated.
The bluboats Cup 2023 is launched and enters the next round at the blu26 Swiss Championship 5-7 May in Zug! The sailing club Circolo Lago di Lugano welcomed the blu26 sailors not only with a very experienced team, but also with an exceptional infrastructure and very generous hosting, including attentive, handmade prices. A big thank you for the successful event goes to the sailing club as well as the racing committee.
